Amazing New Technologies in Home Surveillance Systems
It truly is wondrous if you stop to think for a minute about how far the technologies that go into home surveillance systems have advanced. In fact, many of the futuristic devices that used to be shown only on spy or science fiction movies of the past are in fact now easily affordable.
Take newer infrared cameras for instance. These are the cameras that can actually see in the dark and through obstacles such as bushes by sensing body heat. It was only a couple of decades ago that this type of camera would have cost several thousand dollars and would have only been used in the most sensitive of security circumstances.
Now you can buy an infrared CCTV “closed circuit” TV camera for as little as $150 online. This of course would be for a more simpler model but they also come in other types of configurations and styles included weatherproof and disguised models.
Granted, infrared technology is still somewhat expensive when compared with more affordable night vision cameras that sell for as little as $50 per unit. This is similar to infrared, in that it has the capacity to see in the dark, only there are a few differences.
Unlike infrared, night vision cameras do need some light to function. They function in much the same way that an animal such as an owl that can see in the dark does. This is that they have the ability to adjust up and down the amount of light that they need to function properly.
Another amazing new aspect of todays security cameras is that they are able to sense motion and relay this information to your security systems control panel. This in turn can signal your system to do any one of a number of things including automatically call the authorities or even call your cell phone.
